Maynilad: Parts of Manila, Pasay waterless on Wednesday


Parts of Manila and Pasay Cities may go waterless on Wednesday, water concessionaire Maynilad Water said Tuesday. In an advisory, Maynilad said it is upgrading its pipe network in Manila to improve water services in the West Zone. The service interruption is due to the repair of a leaking pipe along the Philippine National Railways track along the Pasig River bank in front of El Pueblo Compound in Barangay 630 in Sta. Mesa, Manila. Also, it said it will insert a valve on the 400-mm mainline along Central corner Labores Streets in Pandacan, Manila. Maynilad said the service interruption will last from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday. It said areas that will go waterless include:

  • Pandacan, Manila:
    • Lorenzo dela Paz St.
    • I. Certeza St.
    • Road 1 to 4
    • Jesus Extension
    • Obrero St.
    • P. Noble St.
    • San Jose St.
    • Sta. Maria St.
    • Beata, from Railroad to I. Certeza
  • Labores, Manila:
    • Areas bounded by Jesus, Laura, Pres. Quirino Ave., Canonigo, and Creek.
Areas with low water pressure from 2 to 7 p.m. include:
  • Manila:
    • Areas bounded by A. Mabini, Balagtas, Menlo, R. Alunan, Villareal, San Isidro, Zobel Roxas Ave., Osmena Highway, San Andres, Ciraco Tuazon, Gonzalo, F. Munoz, Angel Linao, Paris, Leon Guinto, Lawin, Bagong Lipunan, M. Adriatico, Quirino Ave.
  • Pasay:
    • Areas bounded by Taft Ave., Libertad, Marconi, Araro, Casino, Dela Cruz, Arellano Ave., Villareal, R. Alunan
    • Areas bounded by Roxas Blvd., Sen. Gil Puyat (Buendia Ave.), Taft Ave., R. Alunan, Menlo, Balagtas, R. Layug
Maynilad advised customers in these areas to store enough water for the duration of the water service interruption.—JV, GMA News
