Nielsen survey: Globe Tattoo is fastest in pre-paid broadband

A survey commissioned by Globe Telecom in the fourth quarter of 2010 revealed that Globe Tattoo has the fastest speed among existing mobile broadband products in the market. The network test study done by Nielsen Philippines was performed in total urban Philippines, covering NCR, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The network test looked at the performance of Globe Tattoo and its competitors Smart Bro and Sun Broadband in five Internet transactions such as browsing (page loading success rate and page loading time), download (success rate, time and speed), upload (success rate, time and speed), ping (success rate and round trip time), and video streaming (speed, video quality and audio quality). According to the research, Globe Tattoo posted better results than competition, specifically on transactions requiring higher bandwidths such as downloading and video streaming. Advantage was most prominent on transactions made from 12:00am to 11:59am. Covering randomly selected urban areas in Metro Manila, North Central Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, the network test was conducted in a total of 500 households. The test was done inside the home to simulate network performance when accessing the Internet from the home.
