2 hurt as fire razes public market, 500 houses in Cavite

At least two people were reported injured after a fire razed a public market and 500 houses in Bacoor town in Cavite province Friday night. Radio dzBB reported early Saturday the fire razed the Zapote Public Market in Zapote I village, prompting vendors to rush to save their belongings. The fire, which reached the fourth alarm, also razed 500 houses in Zapote I and Talaba V and VI villages. Firefighters said the two who were hurt were not immediately identified. In Manila, meanwhile, fire of undetermined origin hit three units of the Pacific Building along Quintin Paredes Street in Manila's Binondo district Friday night.
