Ramon Brobio, one of the most successful golfers ever produced by the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP), is set to return in the country to train and coach the boys and girls’ squads joining the Montecillo Cup Junior Golf Team Championship in Lipa City, Batangas on March 6. Brobio will handle the boys team composed of Clyde Mondilla, Miguel Tabuena, Jobim Carlos, Rupert Zaragosa, Gio Gandionco, Kenneth Kano JP De Claro and Jonar Austria. The ladies squad will be bannered by Andie Unson, Sarah Jane Ababa, Daniella Uy, Sheryl Villacencio, Irina Gabasa and Princess Superal. Aside from the Philippines, five other countries have confirmed participation in the event. Bangladesh and Chinese-Taipei are the latest countries to join in the event also to be participated by Thailand, Singapore and Guam. JGFP chairman Gerry Handog believes that Brobio’s championship experience will be a source of inspiration for the young generation of golfers. “We hope that Ramon, an alumni of Jungolf, would be able to help our cause and keep the momentum of our talent development," Handog said. Brobio is the only Filipino winner in three different divisions in the Junior World Golf Championships. He did it in 1981 (Boys 9-10), 1983 (Boys 11-12) and 1985 (Boys 13-14).
