2 suspected robbers killed in Bulacan shootout

At least two suspected robbers were shot dead in an encounter with police moments after their last heist in Bulacan province Tuesday night. Radio dzBB reported early Wednesday that the suspects were making their escape when a police team in the area pursued them. Bulacan police officer-in-charge Senior Superintendent Wendy Rosario initially identified one of the slain suspects as one Jomar dela Cruz. An initial investigation showed the incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. at a restaurant along Daang Maharlika in Pulilan town in Bulacan. Police recovered from the slain suspects at least six ID cards of Indian nationals, and the motorcycle they used. The dzBB report said police had been keeping tabs on the suspects, who had been linked to past robberies in the area. — RSJ, GMA News
