Retailers’ group: Auto-LPG not covered by latest price hike

Auto-LPG, the liquefied petroleum gas used in vehicles, is not included in the latest round of LPG price hikes, an independent marketers' group said Thursday. LPG Marketers Association (LPGMA) president and party-list Rep. Arnel Ty stressed this in a radio interview, even as he said Auto-LPG is priced higher than household LPG. “Yung Auto LPG, hindi pa. Mas mataas ang presyo nito kay sa household LPG (The LPG price hike does not cover yet the Auto-LPG, which is priced higher than the one used in households)," Ty said in an interview on dzBB radio.
On Wednesday night, GMA News' Saksi reported that LPGMA would hike by P1/kg its price mid-night Wednesday. This translates to an P11 increase in an 11-kg LPG cylinder tank. LPGMA cited rising world prices of LPG as the reason for raising its prices. In the dzBB interview Thursday morning, Ty said that with the latest price hike in effect, an 11-kg LPG tank will cost about P660, from the previous P650. — LBG/RSJ, GMA News
