Ardina eyes 2nd crown, guns for Thai Am title
Two days after bagging her individual crown in the 33rd Queen Sirikit Cup Golf in New Delhi, India, Filipina champion Dottie Ardina sets her sights on the 21st Thailand Ladies Amateur Open Golf and Inter-Club Team Championships in Bangkok. Thailand. “As they say, I have to strike while I’m hot. I've barely had a few days' rest and a few days to practice. I can’t wait to get my second win of the season, hopefully," said Ardina moments after arriving at the NAIA Terminal 2 after a triumphant campaign in the Queen Sirikit. The Thai Am is set March 20 to 26 at the Bangkok Golf Club. Ardina will be back in the local training facility in a day or two to hone her game. Although she shot under-par rounds in three days, she believes she needs to improve further by broadening her repertoire of shot-making abilities. “I can’t be complacent with just one win. There’s much to do with my game," said Ardina. “Without coach Bong’s guidance, I will still be struggling today," she also said. Also competing in the Thai Am event are Chihiro Ikeda, Jayvie Agojo, Lovelynn Guioguio, and Andrea Unson, who also won the individual tiara in the inaugural The Montecillo Junior Golf Team Championships at Mount Malarayat Golf and Country Club. - KY, RCJ, Adrian Flores GMA News
