300-kg ‘double-dead’ meat seized in Bulacan
Police seized at least 300 kilos of "double dead" or tainted chicken meat during a checkpoint operation in Bulacan province. The operation also resulted in the arrest of a tricycle driver who was delivering the chicken to a house in Obando town, according to a report on dzRH radio Tuesday. Arrested was Nelson dela Cruz, 44, who yielded the meat during a checkpoint operation around 6 p.m. Monday. Dela Cruz said a certain Boy San Luis paid him to transport the meat to his house from the slaughterhouse of one Virginia Berlucio in Pulilan town. Initial investigation showed Dela Cruz was paid to transport the meat thrice a week to San Luis' house. The report said police will have to bury the seized meat so no one can re-sell it. — LBG, GMA News
