PEP: Kris confirms formal agreement with James on separation of properties

"Can Mama have a boyfriend?" was Kris Aquino's question to her son James Yap Jr. during their launch as the new endorsers of Fiesta spaghetti in North Forbes Park earlier Thursday, March 17. The famous kid who's now popularly known as Bimby shook his head and replied, "No, ayoko mama." Elaborating on her son's answer, the Kapamilya star said at present, a love life is the farthest thing from her mind. "I think ano lang... it's my duty as a mother to fulfill my duties first. And, kung may darating, it will come. Kung hindi siya darating, meron naman akong dalawang boys na sobrang nagmamahal sa akin. And at least may peace of mind pa ang ate ko—si Ballsy, si Pinky, si Viel—si Noy, so ibigay na natin yung peace of mind nila," Kris said, smiling. When asked if she has already closed her doors to love, she was quick to say, "Sabihin ko na lang pag na-annul na [yung marriage ko] dahil wala naman akong karapatang buksan ang pintuan ngayon." The annulment of her marriage to cager James Yap is currently in process. Her most recent update, "Meron na kaming formal agreement sa separation of properties pero kung ano yung nilalaman ng agreement na yun, nasa korte. Na-i-file na yun. So lahat ng aspetong pinansiyal, tapos na talaga." For once, the usually voluble Queen of Talk did not reveal details because "I'm not allowed to discuss anything regarding the case." Some members of the press even started mentioning some of their properties, asking pointed questions like "Kanino napunta yun?" But Kris remained mum. "Na-settle na nga. Hay naku, huwag na nating pag-usapan kasi, lahat ng material na bagay ay maibabalik. At ang importante, may peace of mind. At ang importante, hindi na kami nag-aaway dahil hindi talaga healthy sa bata na nag-aaway ang mga magulang," she said. In a nutshell, she described the settlement as "maayos, amicable, fair..." The Buzz magazine editor-in-chief Julie Bonifacio interjected: "Fair ba talaga?" The host-actress answered, "Kasi ang kapalit no'n I have a son like Bimby. So I don't care..." MORE ABOUT JAMES. Almost a year after her "it's over" announcement on national TV, Kris's eyes no longer mirror pain and hurt when she's asked about her husband. What matters to her now is to make Bimby happy. So, when the editors and reporters prodded her to talk about the new belle of the Derby Ace player, Kris safely said, "Hindi ko alam." For five months now, rumors continue to swirl that the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) player was dating actress Isabel Oli. Both have denied this. "Siguro kasi hindi pa kami annulled," the mother of two said before adding, "Huwag na tayong makialam sa life niya kasi ako, ayoko rin naman na makialam siya sa life ko. And ano talaga, you know, it's their prerogative. Kasi, kung ayaw nilang umamin, kung meron man silang aaminin, buhay nila 'yan. Huwag na tayong makikialam kasi, ako talaga, parang feeling ko, pag di ko siya papakialaman, he'll be nice to me. Gusto ko maging nice siya sa 'kin para happy si Bimby. Yun..." Their three-year-old son is presently one of the most sought-after endorsers of kiddie brands. He is, according to Kris, already financially secure. To those entertaining the thought that her estranged husband would go after his son's money, the Pilipinas Got Talent judge said, "In all fairness to James, I honestly don't think pagkaka-interesan niya yung pera ng anak niya. Mabuting tao naman siya na hindi niya aagawan si Bimby. Di ka naman aagaw sa three-year-old!" SOMETHING ABOUT JOSH'S DAD. Meanwhile, her eldest son Joshua is graduating this year. With much candor, Kris said her ex-partner Phillip Salvador will not be in attendance. "Hindi ko siya in-invite." Answering the query of a reporter, Kris cautiously related, "Kasi hindi naman siya talaga involved sa life ni Josh. And, honestly, that's why kay James, super ini-effort ko na huwag kami mag-fight, kasi it's so important sa father to be involved. "Siguro kasi kay Ipe, too much water under the bridge na, and siguro, nahiya din siya na 100 percent of the financial responsibility, sa akin. So mahirap na to build [on] that relationship. "Ke Bimby, gusto ko talaga na he grows up close to his father. Importante yun talaga. Kasi, ang hirap na masyado kung ako lang, kasi, masyado akong girl. Si Bim, kelangan talaga ng [father] figure." But despite the situation, Josh seems to have all the support he needs. "You know, siguro kasi, from the time my mom was alive, my siblings to my brothers-in-law, my brother to my uncle and aunt sa side ng mom ko, and my relatives, they really made it a point na punuan kung ano yung pagkukulang kay Josh. "So siguro... Dagdag mo na diyan lahat, si Louie [Andrada, business unit head of The Buzz], si Sweet [John Lapus, Showbiz Central host], yung support system namin, sobrang solid. So, hindi siguro naghahanap si Josh for more." - Karen A. Pagsolingan, PEP
