New Zealand cops identify 8th Pinoy fatality in quake

The Filipino death toll in last month's magnitude-6.3 quake that shook New Zealand went up to eight on Friday as the police there released the name of another Filipino fatality. Filipino Mary Louise Anne Bantillo Amantillo, 23, was among four fatalities named by the New Zealand police in its latest bulletin. Other fatalities identified in Friday's bulletin included:

Ian Foldesi, 64, of Christchurch;

Linlin Xu, 26, of China; and

Naon Yu, 21, of South Korea. This brought the number of identified fatalities in the quake to 146. Earlier Filipino fatalities named by the New Zealand police included:

John Kristoffer Villegas Chua, 24;

Emmabelle Cabahug Anoba, 26;

Valquin Descalsota Bensurto, 23;

Lalaine Collado Agatep, 38;

Erica Avir Reyes Nora, 20;

Jewel Jose Francisco, 26; and

Ivy Jane Cabunilas, 33. Still missing are at least four more Filipinos, including:

Jessie Lloyd Redoble;

Ezra Mae Medalle; and
