Holy Week sked: No LRT service for 4 days until Easter

In observance of Holy Week, the Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 will be closed from 8 p.m. Holy Wednesday (April 20) until Easter Sunday (April 24), before resuming operations on April 25. LRT Authority administrator Rafael Rodriguez said the four-day break will also allow time for the annual maintenance work on the LRT's facilities. "We'll be suspending our commercial trip starting 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20 in observance of the annual Holy Week and to pave way for the maintenance schedules of the two lines," Rodriguez said in a news release posted Friday evening on the LRTA website. He said the two train systems will resume normal operations on April 25, Monday at 5 a.m. The LRT Line 1 runs from Baclaran station in Pasay City to Roosevelt station in Muñoz in Quezon City. Line 2 stretches from C.M. Recto Avenue in Manila to Santolan in Pasig City.—JV, GMA News
