2 students drown in Surigao del Norte resort

Two elementary students drowned over the weekend while swimming in a beach resort in Surigao del Norte, a police official said Sunday. Chief Inspector Nelly Villagarcia, information officer of the CARAGA regional police, said Marc Zauver Mula and Bryan Villaces, both Grade 6 students, were reported to be missing by their relatives on Friday. Villagarcia said the bodies of the two were retrieved at around 10 a.m. on Saturday. “They went swimming but were reportedly swept by strong water current and waves," said Villagarcia.
