Suspect in actor John Apacible's killing charged

Actor John Apacible's uncle, the suspect in the fatal shooting of the Apacible in Cainta, Rizal on Sunday, has been charged with homicide before the Rizal provincial prosecutor's office. However, seaman Armando Rustia, 61, insisted that he shot his nephew Apacible in "self-defense," radio dzBB's Glen Juego reported on Tuesday. Cainta town police filed the homicide charges against Rustia before the provincial prosecutor's office, the report said. However, Rustia remained at a hospital as of Tuesday due to high blood pressure.

Rustia surrendered hours after shooting dead Apacible, 38 (Enrique Apacible in real life), following a drinking spree in Cainta, Rizal before dawn on Sunday. The incident occurred at Primerose Street in a subdivision in Cainta town, following a supposed argument between Apacible and Rustia. Apacible's mother Aurora on Sunday said the suspect had contacted her and maintained he did not intend to kill his nephew. – VVP, GMA News
