'The Ligots' can answer all your questions

Ask the Ligots anything, anything at all. "The Ligots" have an answer for you.

Something on your mind? "The Ligots" have an answer.
Former Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) comptroller Jacinto Ligot and his wife Erlinda have been the focus of a months-long inquiry into irregularities and alleged corruption in the armed forces hierarchy. However, the couple have continually fended off questions by repeatedly invoking their right against self-incrimination or by claiming that they do not recall specific answers. This prompted an exasperated Senate President Pro Tempore Jose "Jinggoy" Estrada at one point to call the former comptroller "General Limot" (General Forgetful) for the latter's repeated claims that he cannot remember alleged questionable transactions in the AFP. And although the Ligots were no-shows at Thursday's Senate hearing on alleged irregularities in the AFP, they will not be missed by their "fans" in cyberspace. The satirical website MosquitoPress.net has come up with what it called "an innovative tool" to help senators question the elusive couple. Users find themselves playing the role of Estrada, with a query form where they can type in any question that they want the Ligots to answer. Just like a Magic 8 Ball toy, users' questions are answered with any one of a few prepared answers, satirizing the Ligots' responses in the actual Senate hearings:
  • "Hindi ko po matandaan (I cannot remember)."
  • "With all due respect, ano po yung tanong (what was the question again)?"
  • "Your honor I'm not feeling well."
  • "I would like to invoke my right against self-incrimination."
Just for fun, the tool's programmers had the Ligots occasionally answer with "Poh?" —the local Jejenese equivalent for "Whut?" On Thursday, Ligot and his wife informed the Senate they would not attend Thursday's hearing due to illness. — TJD, GMA News
