Suspect in actor John Apacible's killing out on bail

After spending a few days under "hospital arrest," the suspect in the fatal shooting of actor John Apacible last Sunday was released on bail Thursday. The victim's uncle Armando Rustia left a hospital where he had been confined upon his surrender, after his lawyers presented a bail order to police, radio dzBB reported Thursday night. Rustia, who had been charged with homicide before the Rizal provincial prosecutor's office, posted P40,000 bail, the report added. Earlier, he insisted he shot his nephew in "self-defense." The incident occurred along Primerose Street in a subdivision in Cainta town, after a supposed argument between the two. Apacible's mother Aurora on Sunday said the suspect had contacted her and maintained he did not intend to kill his nephew. — LBG, GMA News
