Police seize P100K tainted meat in Bulacan province


Some P100,000 worth of "double dead" or tainted meat was seized at a police checkpoint in Bulacan province Friday. Police took into custody the driver and helper in the Asian utility vehicle (WRH-908) delivering the meat, radio dzBB reported Saturday. The report said the meat was seized at a checkpoint in Muzon village in San Jose Del Monte around 11 a.m. A separate report on dzXL radio said the seized meat weighed 652 kilos. Now in police custody are driver Antonio Marquez and helper Nestor Paler, the suspected owners of the meat. Police said the meat was to be delivered to Santa Maria town when it was intercepted. — LBG, GMA News
