PAGASA: LPA, cold front may bring rains

Rains fell on parts of Metro Manila early Wednesday but this was not due to any cyclone, even as state weather forecasters say a low-pressure was spotted in Mindanao. In Manila, radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo reported light rains fell on some parts of the city, including areas where vigils were held for three Filipinos facing execution in China. Meanwhile, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said a low-pressure area (LPA) may bring rains to parts of Mindanao. In its 5 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA also said a tail-end of a cold front may affect Northern and Central Luzon. PAGASA said that as of 2 a.m., the LPA was estimated at 610 km east of Hinatuan City while the tail-end of a cold front is affecting Northern and Central Luzon. "Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms while Luzon will be mostly cloudy with rains," it said. — LBG, GMA News
