Pacquiao heads for USA for May bout vs Mosley

Filipino boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel “Manny" Pacquiao left for the United States Saturday night to continue his training for his bout with Shane Mosley next month. Malacañang wished Pacquiao luck in his training and in his May 7 (May 8 in Manila) bout, even as it expressed confidence he will come out victorious again. “To Congressman Manny Pacquiao, here’s to another good fight. Alam natin na pagbalik mo rito masaya ang ating kababayan dahil sigurado tayong iuwi ni Manny Pacquiao ang panalo mula sa fight na yan," deputy presidential spokeswoman Abigail Valte said on government-run dzRB radio. (To Congressman Manny Pacquiao, here’s to another good fight. We know that when you return, Filipinos will once again be cheering yet another victory. We are certain Pacquiao will emerge victorious) A report on dzBB radio said Sunday that Pacquiao took a 14-hour Philippine Airlines flight for Los Angeles where he is expected to train until May 2, before proceeding to Las Vegas. Upon arriving in Los Angeles, Pacquiao, who won a congressional seat in the May 10, 2010 elections, is to go straight to the Wildcard Boxing Gym of coach Freddie Roach for his training. His fight against Mosley will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. - KBK, GMA News
