NDRRMC: 4 feared dead in South Cotabato landslide

Four miners were feared dead after they were buried in a landslide that hit a tunnel in South Cotabato Saturday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRNC) said Sunday. In its 5 p.m. report, the NDRRMC said the incident occurred at 10:40 a.m. in Sitio Rong-Antem, Kelot, Brgy. Pula Bato in Tampakan. Two other miners, initially identified as Quintin Malid and a certain Pahildoc, were rescued and brought to the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital. Still trapped and feared dead were Ranran Bayore, Ramy Daway, and two who have yet to be identified. The NDRRMC said the six were engaged in "Banlas," an illegal mining operation, when the landslide hit their tunnel. - KBK, GMA News
