Parked car causes 'bomb scare' at Manila police headquarters

A parked car caused a bomb scare right inside the Manila Police District headquarters compound Tuesday morning. While the car has been parked inside the compound since Monday, police dispatched several bomb squads to check on it after no one claimed it early Tuesday. Police bomb experts and bomb-sniffing dogs carefully inspected the silver-gray Honda Civic (VDW-974), radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo reported. No bomb was found inside the vehicle. Instead, police found personal belongings during the search. A record check showed the owner is from Naga City in Bicol, the report said. The MPD has started tracking down the owner of the vehicle. Earlier, the dzBB report said the vehicle appeared dirty and had scratches in front, and its tires were splattered with mud. Its right front wheel was also slightly deflated, the report said. — LBG, GMA News
