Fire razes residential area along Commonwealth Ave.

A fire broke in a residential area along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City on Monday afternoon, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said. It was the second fire to hit Quezon City within five hours. The MMDA Twitter account said the fire, which is currently on fifth alarm, broke at 4:22 p.m, Monday and is currently razing houses in Barangay Culiat near the Puregold supermarket along Commonwealth Avenue’s south-bound lane. A separate fire razed shanties along BIR Road in Quezon City past 10 a.m. Monday, leaving three people hurt and around 90 families homeless. — Andreo Calonzo/RSJ, GMA News
