Anti-RH bill caravan makes rounds in Negros

Some 100 vehicles kicked off in Negros Occidental a five-day Catholic Church-led caravan against the Reproductive Health (RH) bill in Negros Occidental. The participants kicked off the caravan on Monday as they urged Congress to junk what they called the "death bills," news site Visayan Daily Star reported on Tuesday. Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra said the caravan, held in a spirit of penance and sacrifice, was an expression of the Church's opposition to the RH Bill, which he called anti-life. Prayer rallies Fr. Greg Patiño said participants in the caravan stopped in three areas in northern Negros Occidental for prayer rallies. Patiño said the three prayer rallies Monday drew crowds of 1,200 in Cadiz City, 1,500 in Escalante City and 5,000 in San Carlos City. The speakers at the prayer rallies included lawyer Ann Marie Palermo who spoke on the illegality of the RH bill, Dr. Lucelle Villacin on the medical aspect of RH bill and Fr. Ronald Quijano on the morality of the RH bill. The five day-caravan is expected to return to Bacolod City on Friday. – VVP, GMA News
