Retired cop shot dead along Litex Road in QC

Unidentified men shot dead a retired Manila policeman in Quezon City and dragged his body out of his vehicle before fleeing on Thursday morning. The victim, identified only as Efren pending notification of his relatives about his death, was shot while cruising along Litex Road in Quezon City, radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported. "Isa siyang retiradong pulis sa Maynila, negosyante po yan. Wala akong alam na kaaway niya (He was a retired Manila policeman who is now a trader. I am not aware of enemies he may have)," said the victim's cousin, who rushed to the scene.

The police cited witnesses who said unidentified men peppered his Honda sedan with bullets. They then reportedly dragged his body out of the car and left it on the road. At least 10 shells were recovered from the crime scene. The victim's cousin described the victim as 62 years old, and with a rank of Senior Police Officer 2 when he retired from the police force. – VVP, GMA News
