GMail now lets users make own themes

Users of Google's Gmail who are not quite satisfied with the free email service's themes can now make their own Gmail themes to further personalize their inboxes. Gmail said it had heard from many users who want to give Gmail an even more personalized look and create themes completely on their own. "For a while, you’ve been able to set your own colors, and starting today you can customize your inbox with your own background image too," software engineer Jiří Semecký said in a blog post. Users can go to the Themes tab in Settings and choose “Create your own theme." They will see menus that will allow them to select their background images for the main area and the footer. Users who choose to upload their own photos as the background image can choose to tile or align the images. However, picking the background, text and snippet colors can be tricky as the wrong combination can render the text invisible. — TJD, GMA News
