US Embassy closed on April 21, 22

The United States Embassy in Manila announced Friday that it will be closed on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday (April 21 and 22). In an announcement on its Facebook page, the Embassy said it will resume normal office activities on April 25, the Monday after Easter. "The U.S. Embassy will be closed on Thursday, April 21 and Friday, April 22, 2011. Regular office will resume on Monday April 25, 2011," it said. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are regular holidays in the Philippines, by virtue of Proclamation No. 84 signed by President Benigno Aquino III last December. However, the US Embassy has listed contact information in case of an emergency. "In case of an Emergency outside business hours, American citizens may reach the Embassy Duty officer through the Embassy operator at (63)(2) 301-2000 or 526-9819/526-9820," it said. — RSJ, GMA News
