Filipino worker dies of snakebite in KSA

A 51-year-old Filipino worker died recently after a snake bit him in a desert area in Buraidah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a news site reported Saturday. Philippine Overseas Labor Office Central Region Welfare Officer Eduardo Mendoza said Celso Magora died while being treated at the Buraidah Central Hospital on April 7. “As it is a police case, we have referred it to the Assistance to the Nationals Section at the Philippine Embassy," Mendoza said, according to a report on Arab News. He added the employer, Reemal Al-Sowahel Est., should repatriate the victim’s remains. Magora’s family in Tuguegarao City in northern Luzon had been informed of his death, he added. Engineer Farhan Wathan Anezi, the company's regional manager in Qassim, said the papers for the repatriation of the victim's remains are being prepared. He said the company is doing its best to expedite everything. Magora had just arrived back from his vacation in the Philippines when the unfortunate incident took place.— LBG, GMA News
