Bus firm in AJ Perez's fatal road accident suspended

The bus firm whose unit figured in a road accident that killed teen actor AJ Perez in Tarlac on Sunday was suspended for 30 days on Monday. The Partas bus firm was slapped a 30-day suspension by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported. LTFRB board member lawyer Manuel Iway said the 30-day suspension starts on Monday, April 18. Iway also said the LTFRB has given Partas a show-cause order, instructing it to explain why its franchise should not be scrapped. On Sunday, Perez — Antonello Joseph Sarte Perez in real life — was killed when the van he was riding figured collided with a Partas bus. His co-passengers in the van were also injured. The Tarlac police was scheduled to charge the bus driver, Julie Brillantes, with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and physical injuries on Monday.
