Tips on Pilar Pilapil's assailants flood PNP

Days after releasing a computerized artist's sketch of the suspect, the Philippine National Police (PNP) is getting swamped with tips on the men who assaulted veteran actress Pilar Pilapil in eastern Metro Manila on Thursday last week. PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said they are verifying the "hundreds of text messages, radio dzBB reported on Monday. However, Cruz did not elaborate on the tips that were sent via to the PNP via text. He encouraged the public to send in their information by texting "PNP" (space) their tip, and sending the message to the PNP text hotline 2920. The initial investigation showed Pilapil was stabbed in several parts of the body, and was hit in part of her left lung, which partially collapsed. The police said the assailants left Pilapil behind the grassy portion of Piedra Blanca Homes in Barangay San Luis in Antipolo City. – VVP, GMA News
