Report: DPWH road work snarls traffic at EDSA on Holy Thursday

The traffic along a part of Epifanio delos Santos (EDSA) was snarled early on Holy Thursday because of a road work by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). A report on dzRH radio said traffic along the northbound part of EDSA slowed down to a "crawl" due to the road work near a flyover at the Kamuning area in Quezon City. The traffic backed up all the way to the Ortigas area between 4:00 and 5:30 a.m., as only one lane leading to the Kamuning flyover was open to vehicles at the time, the report added. Motorists complained that there was no advisory from the DPWH about the road work. The traffic had peaked along EDSA Wednesday night as buses carrying Holy Week vacationers headed for the provinces. - VVP, GMA News
