NDRRMC: Pateros fire displaces 150 families


At least 150 families were dislocated after a fire of undetermined origin razed at least 40 houses in Sta. Ana village in Pateros town Thursday afternoon. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said the fire started at 4:28 p.m. and was placed under control at 4:54 p.m. "There were more or less 150 families reported affected by the fire. Pateros, Pasig and Taguig Fire Station(s) and other fire volunteers responded," it said, citing an initial report from the Office of Civil Defense for Metro Manila. It said it is still determining the cause of the fire, as well as the estimated damage to property. Meanwhile, the NDRRMC said another fire hit an old house in Baesa in Quezon City Thursday afternoon. The NDRRMC said the fire occurred at 3 p.m., along Mendes Street. The fire was put out at 3:27 p.m. "(There was) no reported casualty/injured as of this reporting time," it said. — LBG, GMA News
