Report: Kaspersky son released, safe

Kidnappers have reportedly freed the son of security firm Kaspersky Labs' founder, Eugene Kaspersky, a Russian news outlet reported Friday. A story on Life News cited "intelligence sources" who claimed Ivan Kaspersky, 20, was released after ransom was paid. "For Ivan ransom was paid, the amount is unknown to me, but it appeared that guy's back," a Google translation of the story quoted one of the news outlet's sources as saying. Earlier reports said that Ivan was kidnapped near the office of InfoWatch, a company owned by his mother Natalya Kaspersky, Eugene's ex-wife and co-founder of Kaspersky Labs. The reports also said that the kidnappers demanded three million euro in ransom. Kaspersky Labs had issued a statement on Friday asking the media to "refrain from speculating and distributing unconfirmed information about alleged events related to the Kaspersky family." But Life News insisted that several of its sources confirmed that Ivan was returned alive. - TJD, GMA News
