5 missing as boat capsizes off Iloilo — police

Five people were reported missing Sunday after the sailboat they were riding capsized off Iloilo province, a police spokesman said on Monday. Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., spokesman for the Philippine National Police, said the incident happened at around 3:38 p.m. at the shoreline of Barangay Sto. Niño Sur in Arevalo district in Iloilo City. “All passengers were still missing. Rescue operations [are] still [being] conducted by the members of Philippine Coast Guard for the possible recovery of the missing passengers," Cruz said, citing a police report.
