PhilamLife appoints new CEO


The Philippine American Life and General Insurance Co. (PhilamLife), the largest life insurer in the country, on Monday announced the appointment of its new president and CEO, Rex Ma. A. Mendoza, starting next June. In a statement, PhilamLife said Mendoza would replace Trevor Bull who is stepping down as president and CEO next month after working for over 15 years with AIA and AIG. Mendoza will continue to strengthen PhilamLife's leadership position in the Philippines with a view to accelerating its growth to the next level, AIA Group's Regional Managing Director Gordon Watson said. “Rex is a veteran in the financial services industry and no stranger to many of us in PhilamLife. I am very pleased that we have a very experienced executive of his caliber to lead PhilamLife. Together with his team, Rex will be able to leverage on Phil am Life's enormous potential for growth and ensure that the company has the best products and services to meet the various financial needs of our customers,“ Watson said. “I am very much looking forward to returning to PhilamLife and the larger AIA family. PhilamLife has always been a fabric of Filipino life, helping generations of customers with their financial needs. It is a privilege for me to work together with the talented employees and dedicated agents of PhilamLife," Mendoza said.
