Baldoz tells Labor Day jobseekers to bring necessary documents
Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz on Friday reminded jobseekers going to the government-sponsored Labor Day job fairs to bring their biodata, clearances and birth certificates. Having these documents will facilitate a smoother and more efficient processing of their job search during the fair, “While the DOLE is taking efforts towards a more efficient job-skills matching process, such as pre-registering job seekers, it is advisable that walk-in applicants bring their credentials to the nationwide job fairs," she said in a news release posted Friday afternoon on the Labor Department website. The department will hold job fairs nationwide this Sunday to mark Labor Day. DOLE will set up one-stop shops for jobseekers to be able to get the necessary documents, particularly in those fairs to be held in large cities. These shops will be set up in cooperation with agencies such as the National Bureau of Investigation, Social Security System, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG. At least a thousand employers and licensed recruitment agencies will bring 100,000 job opportunities to the nationwide Labor Day job fair. The main Labor Day Job and Livelihood Fair will be held May 1 in the Lagoon Area of the Rizal Park, between Roxas Boulevard and Maria Orosa Street. — AY/VS, GMA News
