PHL, Dominica establish diplomatic ties

The Philippines and the Commonwealth of Dominica have established diplomatic ties after both countries signed a joint communique last Friday. Permanent Representatives to the United Nations Libran Cabactulan (Philippines) and Vince Henderson (Dominica) signed the communique at the UN on April 29, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Saturday night. "In brief remarks, Ambassador Cabactulan told Ambassador Henderson that he looks forward to mutually beneficial relations between the Philippines and Dominica not only at the government level but through people-to-people exchanges as well," the DFA said in a statement. For his part, Henderson expressed hope that the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries would provide an opportunity to explore areas of mutual interest and discussing possible cooperation.
