Cops: DzBB employee's killer still at large after 1 week

The suspect in the fatal stabbing of a coordinator of radio station dzBB remains at large a week after the incident, police admitted Sunday. Caloocan City police chief Senior Superintendent Jude Santos said they are waiting for a court to issue an arrest warrant against suspect Cesar Baguio. "Na-file na ang kaso for murder, hinihintay natin ilabas ang arrest warrant. Direct filing ito, tumakas kasi ang tao. Paglabas ng arrest warrant, malawakang manhunt na ito," Santos said in an interview on dzBB Sunday. Santos cited reports reaching him showing police teams have pinpointed several possible locations of the suspect. He did not elaborate. Last week, police charged Baguio for running amok and stabbing dead dzBB's Edwin Ramos in Caloocan City last April 23. Ramos was to be buried Sunday. The Caloocan City police charged Cesar Baguio with murder, frustrated murder and attempted murder before the city prosecutor’s office Monday. Santos said Baguio had an intent to kill when he went into a frenzy and stabbed dead dzBB coordinator Edwin Ramos, 47. Baguio was also charged with frustrated murder and attempted murder for attacking Marvin Sauza, 37, and Emelita Rios, 54, in the city’s Dagat-Dagatan area. Investigation showed Baguio was having a drinking spree with friends when he went amok Saturday night. He was pacified but returned outside, with knives. Ramos tried to pacify Baguio but was stabbed. He was rushed to the Tondo General Hospital but was refused treatment there. He died while being treated at the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center. — LBG, GMA News
