Tired Takano back in World 10 Ball main draw

Tamoo Takano is back in the main draw of the World Ten Ball Championship the third time. The Japanese bet who’s been campaigning for three straight months now, survived exhaustion and a tough Taiwanese foe in Hsieh Chia Chen before prevailing, 9-5, in the Finals of their qualifying stage match at the Star Billiards Center on Wednesday night. Takano is the third player to qualify in the main draw via the qualifying stage tournament. Allan Cuartero of the Philippines and Chang Yu Lung of Chinese Taipei have already secured seats for Stage 2 event on Tuesday night. “I’ve been playing for three straight months now and I’m very, very tired," said Takano. “I’ve competed in the World 8-Ball, went to the Philippines for the Philippine Open, then off to Beijing Open and then back here for the World Ten Ball." “But I’m happy to qualify in the World Ten Ball for the third time," he added. Takano’s win didn’t come easy. He came back from a 4-2 deficit then won seven of the last eight racks to topple his Taiwanese rival. Leading 8-5 in the 14th rack, Takano had a dry break, allowing Hsieh to get back at the table. Feeling cold after sitting on his stool for a long time, Hsieh missed on a corner shot at No.7, and that allowed Takano to wrap up the match. - GMA News
