Ford sales in PHL rise in April
Sales of Ford vehicles in the country went up by about a fifth in April, Ford Group Philippines said in a statement Thursday. Ford Group Philippines president Randy Krieger said that with 764 Ford units sold, the month of April saw a 23-percent increase in the sales of Ford vehicles compared to the same month in 2010. “Ford’s robust performance in April was led by the continued strength of demand for the all-new Ford Fiesta and popular Ford Everest SUV," Krieger explained. He added that the combined sales of two models — 283 units of Fiesta and 227 of Everest — accounted for two-thirds of the Ford vehicles sold in April. “The new Fiesta is increasingly being recognized as one of the clear leaders in the highly competitive B-segment — both by Filipino customers who are continuing to drive strong sales of this fantastic car, as well as respected independent parties who are endorsing the Fiesta with things like the Car of the Year award," the Ford executive said. Meanwhile, in the first four months of the year, the sales of Ford vehicles reached 3,151 units, up 58 percent year-on-year. “The success of Fiesta is continuing to drive our sales gains this year, but it’s also being supported by solid performances across our entire lineup of Ford vehicles. We’re determined to continue building on this success, and further expanding our customer opportunity with attractive promotions like our current ‘Drive One’ campaign in showrooms nationwide," Krieger said. — PE/VS, GMA News
