Pinoys in Bahrain cautioned vs spontaneous protests

While authorities in Bahrain have relaxed their curfew, Filipinos there should still be cautious of spontaneous protests that may occur from time to time. This was the advice of the Philippine Embassy in Bahrain, which reminded Filipinos to keep current with local events and to stay away from large gatherings. "Please be informed that spontaneous demonstrations are still taking place in Bahrain from time to time in response to world events or local developments," Consul General Sahid Glang said in an advisory letter posted on the embassy's website. "If you encounter a large public gathering or demonstration, please leave the vicinity immediately," Glang also said. Last Thursday, the Philippine Embassy in Bahrain advised Filipinos there of the "relaxed" curfew rules imposed by Bahraini authorities as the situation there eases. Glang said the new curfew covers the area from Al Seef flyover to the Bahrain Financial Harbour's traffic lights, from midnight to 4 a.m. Citing another statement from Bahrain's government, Glang said the BFD General Command also eased sea curfew. Under the relaxed sea curfew, all sea activities will be banned from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., starting May 4. — JE, GMA News
