NDRRMC warns of possible flooding in 5 Bicol areas

Flooding looms in at least five areas in Bicol due to rains there, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Saturday. In an 11 a.m. report, the NDRRMC noted a slow rise in Buhi and Bato Lakes; and in Ombao, Camaligan and Sipocot in Camarines Sur. Areas that face possible flooding due to the slow rise of water are:

• Lake Buhi: Buhi (Camarines Sur)
• Lake Bato: Bato, Nabua, Iriga (Camarines Sur); Libon, Polangui, Oas, Ligao (Albay)
• Ombao: Ombao, Baao, Bula (Camarines Sur)
• Camaligan: Camaligan, Calabanga, Bombon, Magarao, Canaman, Naga City, Gainza, Milaor, Minalabac, Pamplona (Camarines Sur)
• Sipocot: Cabusao, Libmanan, Sipocot (Camarines Sur).

"The residents and the local disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions," it said. — LBG, GMA News
