Vendors sell yellow umbrellas for Pacquiao fight

Despite cloudy skies and threats of rain, Filipinos trooped early to various venues Sunday morning to watch the bout between Filipino boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao and Sugar Shane Mosley. Capitalizing on Pacquiao's request to Filipinos to wear yellow and unite, vendors on Sunday were selling yellow umbrellas near viewing venues. The vendors also sold Pacquiao T-shirts outside the venues for P250 each, according to a report by radio dzBB's Glen Juego. Pacquiao had asked Filipinos to wear yellow to show unity, a request backed by Malacañang last Saturday. In Quezon City, the House of Representatives where Pacquiao is a member opened its gymnasium early so some 700 people can watch the fight for free. House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. and many members of the House of Representatives were expected to arrive at the gym later. Local groups also organized medical assistance teams to help viewers who may suffer dizzy spells or even heart attacks while watching the bout. — LBG, GMA News
