DepEd: Kinder summer classes canceled due to storm


The Department of Education canceled kinder summer classes for Monday amid strong winds brought by tropical storm "Bebeng" (international name: Aere). "Kinder summer classes canceled today," the DepEd said in an announcement on its Twitter account. It also reminded teachers and parents of the guidelines on automatic suspension of classes, depending on the storm signal. Under the guidelines, classes at the preschool level are automatically suspended in areas under Signal No. 1. Classes at the preschool, elementary and high school levels are automatically suspended in areas under Signal No. 2. In its 5:00 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration placed under Signal No. 2 the following areas:

  • Aurora
  • Isabela
  • Quirino
  • Nueva Vizcaya
  • Ifugao
  • Mt. Province
  • Kalinga * Cagayan Under Storm Signal No. 1 are:
  • Camarines Norte
  • Northern Quezon
  • Polillo Island
  • Nueva Ecija
  • Benguet
  • Ilocos Sur
  • Abra
  • Ilocos Norte
  • Apayao
  • Babuyan
  • Calayan group of Islands
  • Batanes Metro Manila was not under any storm signal but residents had to contend with power interruptions caused by strong winds and monsoon rains. - VVP, GMA News
