PHL Embassy in Tokyo to hold charity bazaar for quake victims


The Philippine Embassy in Japan will join other countries in the Asia Pacific region on May 16 to 17 in holding a charity bazaar in Tokyo for victims of the recent Japan quake and tsunami. In an announcement posted on its website Friday, the embassy said the “Friends for Friends Charity Bazaar" will be held at the ASEAN Japan Center in Tokyo. “All proceeds will be donated to alleviate the suffering of people affected by the Japan earthquake," it said. The embassy said handicrafts and delicacies will be on sale from the following Asia-Pacific embassies:

  • China
  • Fiji
  • Indonesia
  • Laos
  • Malaysia
  • Mongolia
  • Myanmar
  • New Zealand
  • Pakistan
  • Philippines
  • Singapore
  • Thailand
  • Vietnam The ASEAN Japan Center — located at Shin Onarimon Building at 6-17-19 Shimbashi, Minato-Ku, Tokyo — can be reached by train from the Onarimon station or from the Daimon station, the embassy said. — JE/VVP, GMA News
