2 workers face trial for kidnap, rape of Pinay in UAE

Two Pakistani workers faced a court in Dubai Thursday for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 44-year-old Filipina saleswoman in the United Arab Emirates in October 2010. Prosecutors told the Dubai Court of First Instance the incident occurred in Al Muttaina on Oct. 1 last year, news site Khaleej Times reported Friday. According to the prosecution, one of the two Pakistani men lured the Filipina into his car after inviting her to dinner, then raped her after threatening to kill her. In her testimony, the Filipina said she had met the first defendant, 25, as she was heading home in Al Muttaina in late September 2010. She said she gave him her mobile number when he asked for it. The Pakistani called her up a few days later and picked her up to have dinner at a shopping center. But while driving, he allegedly changed direction, saying he wanted to take something from his workplace. When he got too far from the shopping center, the Filipina asked him to let her step out of the car but he refused to let her go. Instead, he drove her to a dark area in Jebel Ali where he forced her into a warehouse. The Filipina then said the Pakistani played a porn DVD and then took off his clothes and asked to have sex with her. When she refused, he threatened to kill her.
As she was scared, she succumbed to his demand and begged him not to kill her. He then had sex with her. The second Pakistani, 22, entered the warehouse and asked what they were doing. He then spoke to his friend in their language which she did not understand, and he left the place. The first defendant allegedly had forced the woman to have sex with her for the second time. And after which, when they both got dressed, he called on his friend and told her that his friend wanted to have sex with her as well. When the other man entered the room, she told him she did not want to have sex and that she was not a prostitute. But he threatened to kill her. The Filipina again yielded as she feared for her life. She then asked both men to take her to her home. Though they refused initially, they later did so after she insisted. An Emirati sergeant at the Criminal Investigation Department of the Dubai police told the prosecutor that as soon as the rape complaint was filed, the police kept a close watch on the two men. The main defendant was arrested in Al Muttaina and admitted that he had sex with the woman but alleged it was with her consent. He alleged that the disagreement was on the amount of money she was claiming. The prosecution said the warehouse where the crime was committed is far from the highway and that it is a remote area with no street lights and buildings nearby. — LBG, GMA News
