2 suspected robbers killed in Pasay shootout

At least two of four suspected bus robbers were killed in an encounter with police after a botched attempt to rob a bus in Pasay City before dawn Friday. The two fatalities were members of the Sputnik Gang, even as two other suspected robbers were arrested after the encounter, radio dzBB’s Paulo Santos reported. One of the slain suspects died on the spot while the other was declared dead on arrival at the Pasay City General Hospital, the report said. An initial investigation showed the incident occurred shortly after midnight Thursday, when the suspects boarded a Mayami Transit bus. When the bus drew near F.B. Harrison Street, the suspects declared the holdup. But as the bus reached the Pasay Rotonda area, a police car blocked the bus’ path.
