Two killed wounded in a family feud in Lanao


TUBOD, Lanao del Norte — At least two people were killed and one wounded in a firefight between feuding families in Barangay Kakai Renabor in Tubod town Lanao del Norte before dawn Thursday, a military official said Friday In a statement, Captain Ricky James L. Rosalejos identified the fatalities as Ibra Salic, from Mamaan, Piagapo, Lanao del Sur and Alim Macadaag of Barangay Kakai, adding that the victims' bodies bore several gunshot wounds. Rosalejos said, Saharah Makadaag, 18, was hit by a stray bullet and was in critical condition at hospital in Ozamis City. According to Rosalejos, a civilian handed over to soldiers one M14 rifle and one M79 40mm grenade launcher . Moreover, Rosalejos said a certain Calandada Lomondot, an alleged member of Salic group, was apprehended at the crime scene and was brought to Crime Laboratory in Iligan City for paraffin test. Rosalejos said Col. Cresente Ferrer, the Commander of the 601st Infantry Brigade, had directed Col. Ferdinand Razalan, commanding officer of 35th IB, to conduct further search in the crime scene and urged the Philippine National Police to file of criminal charges against Lomondot. The military and PNP are currently securing the barangay to prevent further retaliation from both warring clan. Meanwhile, Bgen Noel Coballes, Commander of the First Infantry (Tabak) Division lauded efforts of military and PNP in diffusing tension to prevent more bloodshed, Rosalejos said. — LBG, GMA News
