NBP inmate found buried in prison compound

Found buried under a hut inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) compound, after being missing for two days, was the body of New Bilibid Prison inmate Brian Peña. Peña's remains were discovered at 3 p.m. Thursday and the initial probe revealed the cause of death was a stab wound made with a balisong or buttefly knife. Investigators said a fellow inmate and member of the Sputnik gang readily admitted to killing the victim.

In a TV interview with Saksi’s James Velasquez, NBP officer-in-charge PG3 Eduardo Gogorza said, “Siya po’y naniniwalang ‘yung namatay, nagpupunta sa kaniyang kubol at nagnanakaw ng kaniyang gamit.
