Phivolcs: 2 quakes hit Zambales in 4 hours


At least two quakes rocked Zambales in a span of four hours from Sunday night to early Monday, but there was no initial report of damage or casualty. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the first quake was recorded at 9:41 p.m. Sunday, and was tectonic in origin. It said the quake measured magnitude-3.0, and its epicenter was traced to 116 km northwest of Iba, Zambales. A second quake measuring magnitude 3.4 was recorded at 1:18 a.m. Monday, with the epicenter at 80 km northwest of Iba, Zambales. No damage or aftershock was expected from both quakes, Phivolcs said. — RSJ, GMA News
