8 hurt in Parañaque road accident

Eight people, including a 31-year-old woman, were injured following a predawn road accident at the intersection of Coastal and NAIA Road in Parañaque City Tuesday. The woman, identified as one Princess Magdasal, 31, was rushed to the San Juan de Dios Hospital after being hit by one of the vehicles in the smashup involving a cargo truck and a minibus, radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad reported. Police investigators are verifying witnesses' claims that the woman crossed the intersection instead of using the footbridge. An initial investigation showed the smashup involved a cargo truck (XLK-973) and a minibus heading from Cavite to Manila (NWY-253); and a private vehicle. Magdasal was hit by the bus driven by Renato de Castro, the dzBB report said. The same radio report identified the other injured as "Raymond," "Mario," Richelle Millanes, Alexis San Luis, Jinky Segundo and 11-year-old son Jerome, and Joselito Apostol. — RSJ, GMA News
