DILG website still down

The Department of Interior and Local Government's (DILG's) website is still down as of Wednesday morning, following a hack on Tuesday that led the site to display the logo of a porn site as one of its "news items". On Tuesday evening, the "What's New in DILG" section of the DILG's home page contained a link boasting that the website had been "Hacked." Clicking on the link would take the visitor to a page supposedly containing a news item. But instead of a news item, the visitor would see a logo of porn site YouJizz. Both pages were still online as of 8 p.m. Tuesday, even as the date on the news item page indicated it was set up only on May 31. The hacker identified himself or herself as "BatangMahiligMagbatibot" on the compromised page. But by 8:25 p.m., several pages on the site were taken offline, with an error message indicating the site is "currently having technical problems and will be back as soon as these problems are resolved." As of Wednesday morning, the DILG website has been stripped down to just a brief statement and outgoing links to regional DILG websites. "(We) currently having technical problems and will be back as soon as these problems are resolved. We are sorry for the inconvenience," the agency's statement read. — TJD, GMA News
